I completely get this john! I've had friends who have arrived for a particular seasons too! Though I never realised the lessons and impact they parted with until much later. Yes, there's a tiny amount of grief...barely for me... because by the time I realise it, I've already moved into the acceptance stage:) thank you for naming this so clearly. Also I love the term "texture of a friendship"! That was so visceral for me!
